Signal is integrated into CalyxOS's phone dialer - it ships with built in signal calling support and offers to upgrade calls if the other side is capable

GrapheneOS explicitly chooses not to integrate proprietary services. CalyxOS chooses to integrate support for proprietary Facebook (WhatsApp) and Google services into the OS along with Signal which is also a proprietary service since they stopped publishing the full server code.
